Louw-Nida Tutorial

Written by jdarlack on February 16th, 2009

Philip Brown has provided an easy-to-understand tutorial for using the Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament Based on Semantic Domains by Johannes P. Louw and Eugene A. Nida (commonly referred to as Louw-Nida).

I would guess that Louw-Nida is one of the more under-used tools in BibleWorks. According to Brown’s tutorial, within this lexicon “the entire Greek language [the Greek vocabulary of the NT*] has been divided up into areas of meaning (=semantic domains). One of the primary purposes of grouping words into areas of meaning is seeing how words relate to each other.”

Check it out.
